African Evangelistic Enterprise South Sudan did it’s city-wide mission of the year to the city of Juba West. The mission was only South Sudan’s second ever mission, just a year after its first mission which was to Terekeka.

Evangelists from both within South Sudan and other countries such as Kenya and Uganda gathered for orientation and training at the St. Thomas Mission base, from where they were then dispersed across the various mission zones. The 6 zones were the pivot areas for various outreach efforts to the communities through door-to-door, one-on-one, school and street evangelism among others.

“We thank God for bringing all of us safely together today. That we are all fine and well is something to be grateful for”, expressed John Mawa during a morning devotion and briefing.

How last year’s Terekeka Mission impacted my life and made me come for the Juba West Mission – Rev. Hussian Yacoub

I am Rev. Hussian Yacoub, a parish priest at Loyari Parish in Terekeka County. I received Christ in my life and have served the Lord in Terekeka for many years.

I want to share how the previous mission conducted last year in Terekeka has made an impact in my life and in City as a whole and I believed the same results will happen here in Juba West.

One important thing that has made Terekeka now free from many witchcrafts, is when the missioners last year broke into the market areas to fight and cast out demons in the town.  As we plan to go out to Juba West, we are hopeful that Juba will get transformed with the word of God because we are going to face the enemy (the devil) in the city and through the power of God, we will cast out demons in Jesus’ name.

I believe, Juba will get transformed into a new city like Terekeka now, where the word of God will reach everywhere, and to every corner of the city, and the impacts of it will be that many people will be saved and will receive salvation of Jesus Christ.

Logoro meets Christ on the Street

A young and energetic Logoro was stationed near a shop with his wheelbarrow from which he was selling items to any willing buyer. It is here that evangelists met him and invited him to listen to what they had to share. Logoro meekly accepted to give an ear to what these strangers had to offer. “It can not harm to listen anyway” he must have thought to himself as he hesitantly joined the other two young men who were already engaging with the strangers in bright green, and some, grey, shirts.

When asked if he had heard anything about the message the evangelists where sharing, he shook his head and said he had not been approached by anyone before. The evangelist who had already started speaking to the other two gentlemen before Logoro joined them all too eagerly started from the very beginning so that Logoro could understand about Jesus, and salvation. It was like something was holding Logoro back as he listened to the evangelists. His face contorted as evidence of an inner struggle as he heard these words rich in life, yet his previous and current life stood before him, casting doubt if all what was being said was actually true.

However, by the power of the Holy Spirit, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. Logoro, like many others, rarely goes to church because of the need to work hard to make ends meet, even on Sundays.  After being encouraged, Logoro promised to join a church and a fellowship.

These are just a few stories of the great move of God through the Juba West Mission.
