AE Ghana’s city-wide mission this year will be to the coastal city of Tema which is located some 25 kilometers from the capital, Accra. In preparation for the mission, AE Ghana held engagements with church leaders in Tema to make ready and gear up the various teams and churches that shall be participating in the upcoming city-wide Mission.

“We have so far been able to put together some important working teams including Prayer, Media, Stratified evangelism, and discipleship, to mention but a few. The denominational heads meeting was held on 25th June 2024. This was to bring together some of the key Church Fathers so that they could buy into the proposed mission. At the denominational heads meeting, we requested that they serve on the advisory committee of the mission. They also agreed to encourage other colleagues to join the committees. The vice chairperson of African Enterprise Ghana in the person of Mrs. Afia Darkwa-Amanor was in attendance to grace the meeting.” AE Ghana Team Leader, Rev. Benard Sachie reported.

Apostle Juma addressing denominational leaders in Tema

Apostle Jude Hama, the former country Director for Scripture Union, Ghana, and the first Board Chairman of AE Ghana, encouraged the Church leaders to buy into the Tema Mission. Apostle Jude emphasized the three major challenges that confront the church in Tema, listing them as follows;

  • Spiritual challenge because it is a harbour city, and it has people from different parts of the globe infiltrating their religion.
  • Economic challenge. Everybody is on the move in Tema looking for economic empowerment
  • Moral issues, the city is flooded with prostitution and other forms of immorality.

Apostle Juma stressed that AE Ghana was coming to Tema to partner with the Church so that positive change could be realized in the city in unity.
