Another exciting journey starts for African Enterprise Zambia as they start a second cohort in vocational skills training. In 2023, 20 vulnerable women were trained in fashion and design and this has brought about so much transformation in the communities of Lusaka.

Community Transformation Groups are on the move and have become stronger, promoting an empowered community through the Spiritual, Social and Economic pillars training. Community transformation groups are slowly becoming a movement of women in Lusaka who will end at nothing until they see a transformed neighborhood, a changed community and a city of women of influence.

With 20 women benefiting from the first cohort in vocational skills training and empowered with a sewing machine, this year, AE Zambia, in partnership with the church, has appreciated the strength of an empowered community through community transformation groups, and the impact has spread to other communities.

From the 4 (four) communities reached in 2023, this year 2024, Community Transformation Groups have increased to 10 communities. A movement of trained women who are not only economically empowered, but members in a transformed church ready to take responsibility for the community by evangelizing , sharing the LOVE OF CHRIST, and attending to the social concerns of the people.

With support from the international community, this year, 2024, AE Zambia is administering another group of 24 vulnerable women to be trained in fashion and design, a group of women who are members of an empowered church and impacting communities.

In some communities, it has been about empowerment and also emotional healing to some abused mothers and marginalized girls who have found a reason to smile again.

Poverty has been a cancer in most of the African cities, making young girls go into early marriages and abusive relationships. Filled with shame, it has not been easy for many affected women to come out in the open and seek help. However, as members of these Community Transformation Groups, a number of women have gone through counseling with help from AE Zambia Social Action and other cases referred to responsible authorities. Leaving no one behind, every life is being touched and transformed into a testimony of change. An empowered church with a people filled with love and compassion.
