A People on Mission: The Story of African Enterprise Associates in Botswana
In the streets of Botswana’s communities, far from headlines and platforms, a remarkable movement continues to unfold—steady, faithful, and deeply rooted in love for the gospel. Since 2018, a group of African Enterprise (AE) associates has been quietly shaping spiritual landscapes with an unwavering commitment to evangelism.
It began when one of the associates, inspired by a life-changing encounter with African Enterprise’s Bridge Out training in Grahamstown, South Africa, returned home to Botswana with a renewed passion. Sharing the experience with friends sparked something immediate—“We are in,” they said. That simple affirmation grew into a consistent rhythm of outreach, grounded in church partnerships and a shared longing to see lives transformed through Christ.
Every third Saturday of the month, come rain or sun, the team gathers. Their numbers may fluctuate—sometimes twelve, sometimes just three—but their purpose never wavers. Whether it’s a holiday weekend or a hectic season like the current lead-up to the September 2025 Gaborone Mission, they press on. “We can’t wait for September,” Delight explained. “We have to do it.” Evangelism, for them, is not an event on the calendar; it is a lifestyle.

Their method is practical yet strategic. By partnering with local churches, the team ensures that those they reach are connected to a local church within walking distance—a reflection of AE’s philosophy of stratified evangelism. It’s an intentional model that intertwines outreach with sustainable spiritual growth and development of individuals reached with the gospel.
The strength of this movement is found not in institutions, but in people. Ordinary people. People with families, jobs, and daily demands, yet fully committed to the extraordinary work of sharing hope. As Delight expressed with heartfelt conviction, “Out of just ordinary people, God can still do something. People who are busy with their own things, but can still dedicate their lives to winning souls.” It’s this belief—that God moves mightily through everyday obedience—that drives them.
Even the challenges of the pandemic could not silence their momentum back in 2020. During COVID-19, the associates began a weekly Wednesday prayer call over WhatsApp. From 7:00 to 7:30 PM, they interceded for new converts, upcoming outreaches, and each other. The call became more than a scheduled meeting—it became their altar, a place where the mission was continually fuelled.
Now, as the Gaborone Mission approaches, anticipation is growing. The Kenyan community in Botswana has generously committed to hosting at least 50 missionaries for the event.

Delight, representing the heartbeat of this grassroots movement, humbly carries the weight and hope of many. “We are people from different churches, from different countries, but with one mandate: to make sure every person in Botswana hears the gospel.”
What’s unfolding in Botswana isn’t simply a buildup to a mission—it’s a testimony. A testimony of resilience, of unity, and of a vision too great to be postponed by circumstance. As African Enterprise prepares for its September mission, it does so not by stepping into a vacuum, but by joining hands with those already sowing seeds in faith. The African Enterprise office may not yet exist in Botswana—but the mission is alive and well. And thanks to the quiet faithfulness of associates like Delight and her team, the soil has been prepared.
